CONTEXT

Founded in 2013, Preply has become a leader in the online learning industry. They saw a 10x increase in revenue over the last 3 years and recently raised $35million in Series B funding, which will allow them to continue connecting learners and tutors around the world.

CHALLENGE

Preply’s fast growth required internal restructuring across multiple departments – particularly business-critical roles in Product, Design, Marketing and HR – in order to ensure the business could scale quickly and sustainability.

SOLUTION

We embedded ourselves inside one of Preply’s internal recruitment teams and worked with their Senior and C-level stakeholders to hire for their critical roles.

The pace was fast, but each search and decision were guided by data to ensure its success. We also facilitated exciting changes within the business, including shifting from desktop to a mobile app environment.

Outcome

In 4 months, we made 5 Senior- to Mid-level critical hires and 4 Junior hires. In addition, the trust we built with Preply allowed us share insights from the market and advise them on adjusting some of the roles in order to bring even more value.
